a bit about me:
Dr. S.K. Chaudhuri obtained his B. Text degree in Textile Technology from the Calcutta University followed by a Master’s Degree in Textile Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where he topped his batch. He was awarded National Scholarship by the Government of India for acquiring a Ph. D in fibre science from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology, U.K. Dr. Chaudhuri is the Fellow of the Textile Institute and a Chartered Textile Technologist. He is also Fellow of the Institute of Engineers(India).

Biography
Dr. S K Chaudhuri is currently engaged in the following important activities: (A) As the Managing Partner of International Inspection Initiative which he started single handed as a Business Unit during his Wool mark tenure. (B) Dr. Chaudhuri is enjoying his present role after his retirement as the visiting faculty in the Textile Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, a premier Engineering Institution in the country. The subject he teaches is “Managing Textile Business”. (C) He is the current Chairman of the India National Office of the Textile Institute. He was also the Chairman of the North India Section of the Textile Institute, Delhi for a long tenure of five years. His Involvement with and contribution to the Textile Institute was highly appreciated and awarded.

Dr.S.K. Chaudhuri is the former Regional Director of the Woolmark Company, India and South East Asia and Global Head- Interior Textiles. He has retired from the Woolmark Company after a long 25 years of services.
Dr S. K. Chaudhuri’s initiatives for the development of Human Resources both in technical and design front in the country are notable. The Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi has awarded the ‘Pride of the Department’ award for 2000 in recognition to his contribution to the development of Textile Education and training. He is the champion of creating strong and useful linkage between Educational Institute and the industry.

In year 2014, Dr. Chaudhuri was awarded ‘THE INSTITUTE MEDAL OF THE TEXTILE INSTITUTE ‘, in recognition of distinguished service to the industry in general and to the Institute.
Only after few days of receiving the Textile Institute Medal, Dr. Chaudhuri received another coveted award from the IIT Delhi Alumni Award, the award is for his outstanding contribution to the National Development.
Dr. Chaudhuri has also worked as consultant for ITC, Geneva on Pashmina Fiber Development of Nepal.
